Goa Diaries: Sun, Sand, and a Whole Lot of Chaos

There are trips you plan… and then there are trips that just happen to you. This was the latter.

The Journey Begins (30th September)

We started from Delhi, a bunch of excited (and slightly paranoid) friends. Took a flight to Ahmedabad with a layover before finally heading to Goa.

And yes — before you judge — we intentionally chose this route. There had been a flight incident around that time, and we were honestly a bit shaken. So we decided to stick with IndiGo only and well, this was the only workable option. Priorities, right?

Landing in Goa felt like entering a different world. The air was lighter, the vibe slower, and the excitement? Through the roof.

We had booked a self-drive car, but it was taking forever. Patience wasn’t exactly our strong suit that day, so we grabbed a cab to Morjim where the car was supposed to be delivered. After the usual security deposit and details, we finally got the keys.

And that’s when the real trip began.

The Legendary Drive to Palolem

We drove all the way to Palolem picking up a friend en route and honestly, it was one of those drives. Loud music, random stops, chaotic navigation, and pure madness. By the time we reached, we were exhausted but buzzing with energy. We checked into a hostel shack — 12 of us, bunk beds, zero personal space.

And somehow it felt perfect. It felt like a reunion. Everyone had stories, updates, and chaos to share. But first — priorities.

Boys being boys.

Our stay was right next to the beach. You could literally feel the sea breeze sitting inside. We bought a volleyball, handed it to the one responsible guy (who refused to swim), and ran straight into the ocean.

That moment? Pure freedom.

We played volleyball, football, ran around like kids — until sunset drained every bit of energy from us.

Dinner That Tasted Like Ecstasy

We cleaned up and headed out for dinner at The CasaNova Bar and Restaurant. With a group of 10+, things could’ve gone chaotic — but instead, it turned into one of the warmest meals ever. The waiter was incredibly friendly, the food was amazing, and the entire vibe just clicked. We laughed, shared stories, and for a moment, everything felt simple.

Then we went back and crashed. Hard.

Day 2: Mud, Rain & Butterfly Beach

Morning started with a split, some went for a continental breakfast. But me and my closest friends?

OG Poori Sabzi. No debate.

We set out for Butterfly Beach, and Goa decided to test us. It started raining, and the uphill climb turned into a muddy adventure. So we did what any sensible group would do :)

We ditched our shoes and went full desi.

Barefoot, red mud everywhere, slipping, laughing it was absolute chaos.

But the view? 100% worth it.

We clicked photos, soaked in the scenery, and then went kayaking. It was crowded, sure, but still incredibly fun. From there, we tried heading to Cabo De Rama. Traffic + rain delayed us, but we still managed to grab some aesthetic cliffside shots and quick bites. By evening, we were back near our stay, sitting at a small local cafe, playing games, talking and just enjoying each other’s company. It was tiring but the kind of tiring you never want to end.

Day 3: North Goa & Villa Life

We headed to North Goa and checked into our Airbnb in Porvorim. And wow it was a villa.

Naturally, within minutes:

  • Bags dropped
  • Clothes changed
  • Everyone in the pool

No warm-up needed.

Later, the group split:

  • Some went to Tito’s Lane (party mode ON)
  • The rest of us explored Vagator - cafes, bars, just soaking in the vibe

We regrouped near Tito’s Lane later. Dinner was at Casa Portuguesa — mackerel and prawns that hit just right.

Simple, flavorful, and exactly what we needed.

Back to the villa, and another night done.

Day 4: Views, Vibes & That Sunset

Some of us woke up early (rare event) and headed to Chapora Fort.

The climb? Tough.

The view? Unreal.

Standing there, overlooking Vagator Beach and the endless ocean it was one of those silent moments where everyone just paused.

And yes — we recreated the iconic “Dil Chahta Hai” pose. Mandatory.

Next stop: Turtle Beach.

And this place… was something else.

Calm, peaceful, almost untouched. We ate at a beachside restaurant there, hands down some of the best food I had in Goa.

Then came the sunset.

No exaggeration — it was the most beautiful sunset I’ve ever seen.

Sitting there with my closest friends, watching the sunset it felt surreal.

Like time slowed down just for us.

The Night at Thalassa

We regrouped with the party crew and headed to Thalassa.

The night was alive with performances, music, food, photo booths, face paints etc. It was loud, chaotic, and perfect. Later, we celebrated one of our friend’s birthday near Morjim Beach.

Simple, emotional, and a perfect end to the night.

Day 5: The Perfect Goodbye

Last day. And yeah, it hit us.

We drove to Arambol and took a short trek across rocky paths. And then we saw it. A freshwater lake right next to the ocean. We jumped in, relaxed, then ran straight into the sea. At one point, me and a friend just lay there on the sand, waves hitting us, doing absolutely nothing. No phones. No noise. Just existing. We rinsed off in the lake, grabbed a shack chair, had prawns again (no regrets), and just sat there trying to absorb it all.

On the way back, we dropped a friend at a bus stop.

That moment felt heavier than expected.

We went back, slept for a bit, and then left for our 2 AM flight.

Final Thoughts

Goa is beautiful. No doubt.

But Goa with friends?

That’s a completely different experience.

It wasn’t just about beaches or food or places.

It was about:

  • Random conversations at 2 AM
  • Laughing over nothing
  • Getting lost and not caring
  • Sharing silence without it being awkward

It felt unreal.

And if there’s one thing I know this wasn’t just a trip.

It was a memory we’ll keep going back to.
